Shiseido Co. Ltd. produces many different makeup and cosmetic products but one of their most well known lines is one called White Lucent. This particular beauty product series was created for consumers who are looking to whiten or “brighten” their skin. This has been a very popular process the past few years and many cosmetic companies are developing new creams just for it.

Shiseido’s White Lucent series includes many different products. Unlike other brands where a lightening cream will work for every area of the body and cost $30 to $50, the White Lucent line is made up of 14 different products. All 14 cost anywhere from $35 to an insane $125. Sadly, if you’re looking to even out your skin tone all over your body you would have to purchase 3 to 5 of these products which adds up very quickly.

Each product in this line is generally 1.5 to 4.7 oz and is designed to correct the skin tone of a specific area of the body. There are creams for the eyes, face and body. On top of paying, on average, $60+ for each cream you will also be charged anywhere from $6 to $12 for shipping. So, in the end, you’re looking at paying $70 or more just for one.

How Effective is it?

Some of our testers saw minimal results using White Lucent products. Most didn’t begin to notice any sizable differences in their skin tones until 4 1/2 weeks into testing. And even then the results were not impressive by any means. After reviewing the final results of a 6 1/2 week study of use of these products we concluded that results were far too little to warrant the price tags on these Shiseido brand products.

What Are Alternatives?

In conclusion, White Lucent brightening creams add up quickly in price and just don’t deliver enough for us to say they are worth trying out.
